Umm....does the Magical Armchair still exist? I haven't gotten a digest
since Friday and I miss it..I got all my email today expecting to sit down
and read five or six of them but all I got was one! Also, the other day I
was driving in my car listening to them and I got to thinking...if BFF had
never existed, would I have found another band that I liked as much...do
you all think you would have?

Hey,
I didn't receive ANY Armchairs over the weekend! I came into work this
morning and actually had to do WORK rather than read 4 issues of
Armchair. What's up w/ that? Were there none released or did I just
get boned?
So, not only am I hauling down to Columbus for the HORDE (from
Rochester, NY), I'm actually going to be working it! (my friend is the
master electrician at the Polaris Amphitheater). So I figure it may be
a good opportunity to go hob-nob w/ Ben, Robert and Darren. Whadya
think?
Anybody else planning on being there?
Well, I hope I actually see this post. I'd hate to be deprived of my
morning distractions.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Subject: Free BFF Seattle Ticket Givaway Scam!
Everyone appreciates what KNDD was trying to do: promote BFF with a free concert.
Despite the obvious disgruntlement with the "must be 21+" age requirement, a lot of us "over 21-er's"
also got a bum deal.
As some of you may know, a local radio station, The End, KNDD on 107.7FM, advertised that individuals
wanting free BFF tickets must appear at Tower Records on Mercer from 11am-1pm. No conditions other
than age were stipulated.
A line began forming at 8:30am.
When KNDD showed up at 11am, they began asking stupid trivia questions.
Tickets were not given out first come, first serve, to those who stood in line.
Some of the questions were great for people who spent their ear's glued to the radio and had memorized
every fact there was about not only BFF, but also about KNDD. However, most of us "over 21-er's" have
very busy lives and taking the time out to show up early to stand in line, to us prooved our loyalty to the
band.
After many individuals voiced their opposition to the method of ticket distribution, the KNDD crew decided
after many calls to bosses, to give everyone a number on a sticker and hold a lottery.
- - Some people grabbed more than one numbered sticker.
- - Some people walked up at the end of the drawing (who were just passing by to go to the record store) and
got lucky and got tickets they probably didn't even use.
- - Some people had received blank tickets and wrote numbers on them, hence resulting in duplicates which
KNDD honored, despite the crew member who swore up and down it wasn't his handwriting.
- - Some people who had waited since 8:30 that morning didn't get tickets.
- - There were a 100 tickets and less than a 100 people when the lottery began at 12 noon. They could have
just given out the tickets to all those who showed up by that time.
If you think this is unfair, please help out the BFF'ers in Seattle by putting in a suggestion at:
http://www.kndd.com/about/ . If the site is down, like it was when I checked, you can email complaints to
the staff: alexands@kndd.com, baileyt@kndd.com, monroek@kndd.com, reidb@kndd.com,
collinsm@kndd.com, or morigit@kndd.com. I honestly don't know what program director Dean Carlson's
address is. It's not listed. Could it be: carlsond@kndd.com? The station's phone # in Seattle is (206)
622-3251. Address is 1100 Olive Way Suite 1550, Seattle, WA. 98101 (unsure of zip).
Thanks for all your support and sorry for the long letter

hello,
everybody'z been talking about wearing stuff to get recognised as
armchairettes well, what about we all take melody pops to gigz. melody
pops are a mix between a trombone a recorder and a lolly. they comer in
three flavours, watermelon, cola and strawberry! they're lovely, we
could all sit at home practising all the bff songz we know and then play
them at gigz. they might not last the whole set, but it sure would be
kool, and cheaper than t-shirts as they're only 20p a throw.
unfortunately, i don't know if you can get them in america, or
austrailia, but you can get them here in teh uk. yeah.
also i've only had one contribution for five fold #3 so far. five fold
is my ben folds five zine. it'z wonderful, and if i like yr contrib.
then you get a free copy!!! just email me yr contribs ok?? if you would
like to buy issue 2 then send 50p or 3ircs and an a5 sae to alex, 93
shortheath road, farnham, surrey, gu9 8rz, uk. ok? good...
love and modemz,

Subject: BFF rocks.
Hey all,
I'm new to the list but have been listening to BFF for about a year
now. They used to play here at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC a lot
but they've cooled that off with Horde, Japan and England and we're very
sad. Anyway, I love the way the lyrics and the music don't match: even
when Ben's singing a depressing song it cheers me up for some reason.
BFF has been regular rotation muzak on 96 Wave here in Chucktowne and I
always loved the music, but never bought the CD. Then I saw Bottle on
M2 and got even more interested, but didn't buy both CDs until I heard
Whatever & Ever at my girlfriend's house. Now they're just about all I
play (except for Jump, Little Children). Anyway, I'm glad I finally got
both CDs and found the websites and this mailing list. If anyone wants
to trade some BFF bootlegs for some Jump, Little Children, I'd be happy
to, just e-mail me. J, LC is a lot like BFF: they're both from Southern
college towns with not a lot of concentration on a 6 string. J,LC is
comprised of a string bassist, a cello, a
mandolin/harmonica/tin-whistle/very cool dude, a drummer, and the
greatest lyricist/singer to ever live. If you wanna learn more about
J,LC, visit my homepage @
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/9086/jlc.html or visit
http://www.jumplittlechildren.com/ They're originally from
Winston-Salem (except for Jonathan Gray) and now live here in
CHarleston. They also played with BFF at Music Midtown Fest. They only
reason they PLAYED MMF was to see Ben Folds Five. :) Anyway, catch you
all later.
