Subject: BOOTLEGS...the converse _FOR_ argument!
Whomever it was that went off on boots, you SEVERELY need to revise your
position. They will never stop, there are too many ppl interested and too
few industry types who care about making the goods REALLY available for any
seriously LOWER price...and they NEVER will...
A)) BOOTS are not ALWAYS made by moneygrubbing crooks and criminals
pathetically stealing from the band.
Usually they are fellow fans who simply have equipment and time costs
related to the higher quality mass production of their products, even if on
their level "mass" means 100 copies.
Almost EVERY person I have met with a burning machine who makes their own
boots and sells them at record conventions is simply trying to share and
only make enough money to cover their losses and time. They RARELY are the
conspiracy/stereotyped warehouse of illicit activity...
B)) BOOTS are usually PURCHASED by fans who usually ALREADY OWN EVERYTHING
from the artist in question. ALSO they are baught for less than $20 on CD
or less than $7 on cassette by the SAME fans who pay between $9.99 and
$17.99 to CORPORATE criminals in suits who work for companies who usually
enslave and manipulate artists against their will.
Who's the criminal? Why does BOOTING HURT the band? Seems to me that if
there is more rare stuff from the bands circulating, there's more chance
that the ppl with the rare stuff will share it with others. Easier and
more frequent than CD or DAT trading is always analog cassettes. There are
thousands of ppl trading tapes daily on the net.

So the argument against booting is as full of bullet holes as the argument
FOR it...I claim NEITHER position is better or more right...but that the
rare stuff will be here no matter how many ppl wanna complain. It's
something you come to a degree of acceptance of...not wrangle about
"abolishing"...
For the person who asked...check my site for my BF5 rarities. I can trade.
None of it's on CD other than the albums. :P
