I think it's "slammin' the pit fantastic", since the song's making fun
of the overly-pretentious underground music scene, but I could be wrong.

Ok, I asked about this before but nobody replied. Maybe by now somebody
knows.

Can someone help me out with the lyrics for "Bad Idea" on the Kate
B-side? I'm NOT talking about the one on the Mr Wrong soundtrack. What I
understand at this point is:

Pull over the car, pull over the car
I think I see some BLAH BLAH BLAH
Pull over the car, pull over the car
I think I feel BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I have my theories for the latter BLAH BLAHs but not the first. Anyone
know? I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh, and on the topic of lyrical revelations...I could never figure out
why Robert and Darren were singing "My feel!" in the background of
"Philosophy." I realized the other day, however, that they're singing "my
phil.....o...so...phy..." and it all makes sense to me now.

they'll take me off the goddamn thing. Sorry to digress from your

Howdy All,

Replying to a few posts at once here so bear with me....

Dios Darren... at the Monash Gig, I couldn't see Darren very well... But
every time I did, he was groovin along and having a ball. I think he is a
most sensational drummer/percussionist....I have to point out that it
always the front man of any band that

gets the glory... Unfortunate but true, they are the ones people get
crushes on, I guess because they are so much more visible and the ones who
tend to be the most vocal (funny about that!!!) Also it is more difficult
to see drummers behind all that gear!

Perth Show/ Show Reviews/Melbourne Gig....

I must say I am really disappointed that my first BF5 gig was the Monash
one... The Adelaide and Perth shows sound like they were so much better.
As a couple of people have commented, the crowd didn't seem to know BF5
very well, so were pretty dead. They

fired up most for Underground and OAD and 200SF and those songs pump, but
so do a lot of their other stuff and the crowd just stood there and
stared. The rapport between the band and the crowd that people have been
mentioning also seemed not to be there v

ery much, and there was certainly not very much antics from Ben. No
criticism on the guys at all, it was a perfect show on their part, I just
feel that they didn't have much to feed on from the audience.

Or perhaps it was the size of the venue... they could have fitted a lot
more people into the place, so although there were about 1000 people
there, it seemed pretty empty, which is always disheartening as a
performer. It is hard to pump the same amount of

energy into an empty space, when it is full, the audience throws so much
more energy back at you, it doesnt get as lost, and the performers and
crowd feed on each other. So I am looking forward to the Prince of Wales,
as it is a smaller space and being a

second concert, it will hopefully have more of the real FANS, rather than
hangers on (if you know what I mean)

Sorry for rambling so much...

Sarah, who has begged and pleaded all week to get this Friday night off...
(I'm a barmaid) Yes, I'm going to the concert... I feel like Cinderella
before the ball ;-}

okay, someone is out there...here's my story.

my friend maggie lives in chicago and this past weekend when she was
visiting a friend at college, a tony something....she happened to see a
bff sticker on this guy's roommate's folder. so she asked him about it,
knowing how much i, here in columbia, missouri, loved bff. and he said
that it was his roommate's and he is a fanatic. well, if he is truly a
fanatic, then of course, he will be a part of this wonderful armchair,
recognize himself, and then say, cool. like i did.

oh, and to scott, wondering about misheard lyrics...i just sing nonsense
most of the time. especially to beck. and then people see me singing and
they ask me what it says, and i just look at them like, duh. that's my
story. thanks to paul may for making me famous on the people on the
armchair page. come see me if you want to.

Speaking of Elton John, does anybody else think a cover of "Rocket Man" by
the guys would be any good? IMHO, it's the only good song Elton John
wrote.

Moshing has to be the dumbest thing that concert-goers have ever created.
I've yet to be to a Ben Folds show, but i can imagine that there are plenty
of idiots that don't really know what they're doing that go and mosh. People
mosh at ska shows. It's insane. I could never quite understand why people
have such a lack of respect for other people. I hardly ever am able to be
right up infront or even in the middle of a show because, regardless of the
music, some idiots have to go running into each other like retarded gerbils
and a whole big circle opens up and, well, i enjoy my bones. I don't like
them broken. So i move and let the people who arn't even interested in the
band, and instead are just interested in proving to the rest of the audience
that they have some type of random frustration they need to get out (probably
sexual), and i get to stand at the very side or back trying to get a glimpse
of the band through the circle of nosebleeds that just erupted. It's
unfortunate people are so stupid.

Hi Fivers,

Idaho is so right!! I always have my eye on Darren. Darren is totally
awesome. Why do they put him in the back? He should be right up front
with Ben and Rob, even if they have to be in a cheesy line across the front
or something. Or, what about suspending the piano, having Ben sit on a
trapese swing, and then have Darren and Rob up front. Then, we could
really see everything. Also, I think that Darren's cymbols should be
lower. Every show I've been to, the damn cymbol blocks my view. Just to
plug Robert too, he is super sexy. Whenever I bring a new BF5 listener to
a show, they usually flip out over Rob's sexiness first and then move
around to admiring the rest of the band. Still, Darren is my fav all the
way. Peace.

There was a question about lyrics in the song Underground. They go
as follows:
"And we'll be decked in all black,
    Slammin' the pit fantastic."
At first I thought it was the big fantastic, but I was corrected by
the dumbest person I know. Kind of humbling, eh?
