Hello Fivers,
Buried in the mire of school work and social obligations I have neglected
my correspondence with all you lovely armchairites. Apologies all around.

Catholic Univ. here in DC are going up. Should totally rock. I am staying
at UPenn prob. for the night too. Any UPenn people out there? So, want to
have a pre/post party anyone? I don't really know anything about Philly,
but maybe we could all meet on South Street somewhere. Whatev. Chill.
Peace yall.

all i gotta say is that the ypsi show rcked!!!!! the boys were a little
tired and flat but shit they have played at 9 different places in two
weeks!!! they played all the good songs except for rocky which i was
constantly yelling for them to play. they played "shge dont use jelly"
and i must say that was very nicely done, as well as "underground", this
was by far the funnies of them all, w/ the rapping and cool beats that
they had going. i must add though, sexy motherfucker was pretty
hilarious!!! i thought julianne was played brilliantly with the slow
opening verses and then right on to the normal speed, brick was great,
played w/ a lot of emotion. i thougyht kate was really cool as well, but
shit i could go on forever about how all of them kicked ass!!! you all
know though.
for all the armcharians that i saw, sandi, eric, joe, and a buch of
others that i cannot recall the names of....... oh well, it was great
fun, i cant wait for the next tour around here. cheers to all, and i
hope you all that are going to upcoming shows enjoy it as much as i
did!!!!

Man, I don't think it was possible for me to have been any happier than I
was last night. Ok, well I could have met the band, but hey, I've got to
save something for next time...
alright, where can I begin? opening bands maybe? kim fox was enjoyable,
kinda humorous, actually quite good for an opening band. Verbow was a
typical opening band. I thought they were going to be really cool when
the first song was played, but it all went down hill from there. They had
so much potential with the cello and it was all for not... aye. when will
people learn.
k, since my excitement had mounted extremely when i was waiting, i took to
staring from my balcony seat at the backstage... i only ended up seeing
darren, but everytime a new person came out i was questioned by my roomate
to who there were... man it was a wonderful concert they started with
(or just ben started) with missing the war... very nice. I can't say how
normal the interaction with the crowd was but just the same when i went to
see them in North Carolina i don't remember so much interaction. That was
a long long time ago though....
I can't really post a set list cause i don't remember but I loved
Underground and Dr. Physer well wait a minute. there wasn't anything i
didn't like. I was most impressed with the humor in ben's actions.
During stephen's last night in town he was a riot. i couldn't control
myself from laughing. what a guy.
Last thing... i brought two guys with me who had never seen the band, and
when they left this morning, i had to tell them how to get to the nearest
record place so they could pick up the album. I was impressed. they were
impressed. it was good news bears all around... :)
i love you guys, even when you hate each other... please try and just
email the one person you have the problem with, and not everyone... or
something. can't we learn from our own advice?
alright...
i've gone on long enough. can't wait to hear what the rest of you guys
said.
kickin' it one time...

***** you are on here... curious me...

Subject: FAQ
Is there a BF5 FAQ in existence? If there is, perhaps Frank could fix the
thingy so that when people subscribe to the Armchair, they get it. This
would definitely cut down on extraneous "what's Brick about?" "can I get a
recording of Majosha?" and "hey, is that a phone at the end of 'Steven's
Last Night In Town'?" inquiries. Just a suggestion.

I agree. Beck is a very talented lad indeed. Is anyone going to see him when
he tours in Australia, January?!
also did anyone catch Ben Folds Five live at the wireless last monday and

well, firstly i want to tell all you kids about the halloween show.
verbow, (sorry to disagree with those of you who like them,)blew. the high
points of their set was the song that violently ripped off the "sweet home
alabama" chord progression and provided a laugh for all of us; and of course
there was the bucket of blowpops the lead aimed at our heads, largely due to
my friend michael's heckling of them. ouch.
i wasn't that obnoxious, but time dragged in the verbow zone.
the second opener left me pleasantly surprised. and not because of their
costumes. they were dressed as babies, replete with diapers and t-shirts.
kim fox, while being rilly patronizing to the crowd (for those of you who
don't know, the show was held at lakewood civic auditorium, in a high school.
hence the large amount of, well....kids, there.) has a rather talented and
tight band. worth checking out.......
and thankfully, they only played a short set, because we didn't rilly want to
see them at that point anyhow. the end of their set was marked by a grim
reaper coming out to lead kim fox away. (ben!) no jokes about s.i.d.s
please. we covered all of them.
now after an exceedingly long sound check, darren came out dressed as ted
nugent to start things up. robert was dressed as a space commando (and
looked a lot like a 'empire' mark hamill.) and ben came as the spectre of
death himself.
i swear, i tried to remember everything they played--i wanted to give you
folks a setlist, but i only managed to recall the first 4. which have
already been listed.
suffice it to say: underground, battle, missing the war, julianne, emaline,
last polka, dr pyser, songs 4, brick, jackson, she don't use, kate, uncle
walter, steven's, fair, selfless, and philosophy were all played. in some
order unlike the above one. smile.
i was a little disappointed not to hear cigarette, evaporated or the best,
alice or where's summer, but i guess i'll live.
AND I MET BEN AFTER THE SHOW. he was very polite, though he looked quite
tired.
me, shaking his hand. "it's a pleasure to meet you.....this is my fourth time
to see you guys, and you're great each time."
ben: "thanks...."
me: ".....and all the other trite cliches you've probably heard a thousand
times."
he laughed.
NOW. SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am gonna try to go see the notre dame show at stepan centre on the 18th of
november. now. tickets? are they on sale, and if so, how can i get them.
anyone have directions for someone who is too lazy to look in a map?
thanks, guys.

Subject: There are fans in Seattle, too!
I just read the latest list of tour dates and was a bit dismayed that BF5
won't be visiting the Northwest this fall, again.
I believe they have played only twice here in the last 2 years (once each
year) and this year's show was by "free-contest give away" only, meaning
you had to compete and win a contest to attend. That left a lot of fans high
and dry.
Please schedule us next time around. We'll be waiting!!!
