Hey. I've noticed that a lot of folks who like BF5 like TMBG. What's the
deal with this? I think that people know 2 great college bands when they
see them. I was into They Might Be Giants before Ben Folds Five. I found
out about BFF on the radio (Battle of Who Could Care Less) & thought it
was cool, but I didn't feel the urge to get the album. Then one of my
TMBG pals told me to check out Ben Folds & I did & now I know that they
pretty much rock every other band on the planet. I also bought tickets to
their November 1 show, but my parents wouldn't let me go (they didn't
trust my brother's driving abilities), so I had to pay $24 for
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well. Then something messed up with the
Armchair Digest & I stopped getting it for a month or so & I got pissed &
resigned on.

Hey all
I just picked up the latest issue of Rolling Stone (the one with the
Women Of Rock thing) and it's got this article on BFF, like one whole
page. I don't know if anyone has posted about that yet but I just
thought I'd let you all know. This is in Australia by the way. And in
the Random Notes section there's a little pic of Ben with that dude from
Cake.
Well that's all I had to say.
Bye!

Yeah, I like TMBG and DMB... And then some Aussie bands that you
wouldn't know, but should. :) The Whitlams being one of them. Everyone
on this list needs to know them. :) Anyway, I think you'll find a lot of
similar music tastes around here.

Thank you to the guys who mailed me with questions for
the band when I appealed for them a few armchairs ago
but I'm afraid to say there aren't enough yet. Come on,
this is your chance to find out something about the band
that hasn't been asked yet. Help me out here and we could
produce a really cool interview.
To repeat; I want serious or other questions for the band so
I can compile a fan based interview. I don't have long so mail
me with any suggestions at all...
cheers

See, I thought of this... >8) If you are not in the US, then
alternative times for the on-line broadcast can be found on my
webpage at:
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/5430/bff.html
Timezone conversions are in the International News section (you can
link straight there from the "Latest News" link at the top of the
main page). There's also a link there to a timezone conversion script
for those not already mentioned in my table.
BTW, for those in Australia, 11pm EST (30th November) is 15:30 on
**1st December** (Sydney), or 12:30 (Perth). At least, that what the
converter told me....
Oh yeah, nice (I think) to see the boy Beeftodd back again.. cheeky

Well, I'm sure everyone else will point this out, but Whatever and Ever
Amen was released BEFORE 1 Angry Dwarf, and the video was shot before 1
angry dwarf. I think they probably used the same director for brick and
whatever...
And actually, it WAS rather cutting-edge. They didn't
"shoot cameos" on a black backdrop, they shot the band performing, and
then projected those shots in black and white onto a set of only instruments
so that a 2 dimensional b/w Ben seemed to be sitting at a 3 dimensional
color piano. And then they did variations on that.. 3 dimensional ben (not
really playing) with a 2 dimensional projection below him of hands
playing a piano. Etc.. and those aren't "cameo" shots, considering that
the video consisted solely of them and instruments. Someone told me
that there WAS a cameo of Pedro in the video though. I think thats a lie
cause I've never seen it. Pedro is a really short (maybe a dwarf)
hispanic guy who washes dishes at a waffle house in chapel hill. Archers
of Loaf used him in Underachievers' Fight Song, I believe. okay bye

Yep, EST is Eastern Standard time, the time difference say that you should go
to the website at anywhere form 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday (depending on
where you live in Australia). Or maybe you should go there on Sunday from 12
p.m. to 2 a.m.? I'm, not sure how the whole date thing works out, but I'm
pretty sure it is Monday.

I am so geeked! I hear so many of you complaining that you hear"Brick" so
much on the radio, and I've heard it once so far.
Anyway, here in the Detroit area we have a radio station that 2 weeks ago
changed its format from classical to lite alternative. I was flipping
stations in my car and I am schocked when I hear, of all songs, Jackson
Cannery! I got so excited it's a miracle that I didn't get a speeding
ticket!
I am going to find the stations # so I can call and see what other BFF
they'll play!
This is a happy Thanksgiving after all :)
