LET'S KEEP IT ON TOPIC
   Recently some of the discussion threads have wandered off topic,
eliciting posts that have nothing to do with BFF. Even if it's in reply
to something that's been said on the Armchair, keep in mind that if it
doesn't have to do with BFF, it's off topic. The cute banter belongs in
an AOL chat room, not here.
   Also please note a couple days ago the item I posted asking you not
to offer bootlegs for sale. I've updated the "charter", so to speak, to
include that. It might be a good idea to review the list of rules for

Subject: Some thoughts on Ben folds five's new found popularity.

OK-- here are my feelings about Ben Folds Five's sudden popularity:
(1)  I am so happy for the guys; they definitely deserve to be big, BUT.....

(2)  They have released so many other great songs to the American public. The
fact that everyone has caught on to Brick, instead of like Underground, or
Best Imitation, or Battle, or Angry Dwarf (which were all released in the US
for any new BRICK fans who care to know), shows a great deal about American
mainstream.  I just can't believe that they had been neglected with all those
other, wonderful songs that REALLY display their amazing talent.

(3)  Lastly, I guess that I am just a bit selfish.  I liked having MY band
that not too many other people even knew who they were.  Like at concerts, It
was so nice to be among other real fans.  Now, there will be kids who are
bored throughout the whole show and sing the words to Brick while tears well
up in their eyes.

Oh Well, I really am happy for Ben, Darren and Robert.  Really.
