DO NOT REPLY TO OFF-TOPIC OR INSULTING MESSAGES!!!
So many people are complaining about how much space these useless
posts are occupying, without realizing that they are adding to the
problem by quoting or replying to these messages themselves.
Posts with no BFF content are off topic. So are posts of a moderating
nature (that's my job). Usually I will send a gentle reminder to
those who violate these rules, but lately it just seems to go on
and on. As a result, please be aware that you may find yourself
unsubscribed without warning if you post an off-topic message.
BACK ON SCHEDULE
The problem has been fixed and digests should once again be going out
daily on schedule.

A) Ben did not know Kate when he wrote Summer B.; their first date was a
radio show he was doing to promote the already-released self titled
album.
B) The line is, I believe, "Smoke a bowl with CALEB", as in Caleb
Southern, who produces the band.

It's called a Melodica. Ben plays it, live as well as on the album.

P.S. See y'all in chicago!!!

If any Armchairites want to hook up, I'll be at the Dallas & Houston
shows, a little bit to the left of the piano so I can watch Ben's hands
(always trying to glean a few playing tips). I have a blue mohawk so I'm
hard to miss.

Hey all!!!! Been gone a while, but got some stuff to
share...hopefully some good news for some BFF fan around
the Detroit area. My friend just won two tix off the radio for
the show @ Clutch's in Pontiac on Feb 16th...and since
I already have my tic, we got an extra sitting around. I
don't think she has anyone in mind to come along, and I'd
love to give a fellow fan the chance to see them, instead of
just another brickhead, since I've heard the show is sold
out...so if you're interested, e-me, we'll try to work something
out eh?
Beyond that, I'm soooo excited....I can't wait to see the
boys again!!!!!!! If anyone's planning on taping the show,
please lemme know...I'd truly appreciate the copy for nostalgia,
I really regret not being able to get ahold of a tape from Ypsi.
One week and counting....
Live good.

Hi everyone,
I just got back from the show, and it rocked! It was the first time I've
seen the guys live.
I was wondering if anyone had taped the show, I'd really like a copy of
it.
Thanks,
Ryan

EVERYBODY JUST CALM DOWN.
I don't know whether anybody realised but i have just been told to
lighten up. That is quite alright for I can take some constructive
critism, but I am not quite sure as to whether @nn@ has lightened up
yet. Take it easy, I am sure that half of what we say is in good heart
anyway, just take a few deep breaths and everything will seem a lot
"lighter". My comment to Richard was a joke but i don't think I should
have to justify it anyway.

Hi.
PALACE SHOW--Simply ace.
LINE--First ones. Was the short-haired girl with the asian Thom Yorke
and Sandra. Front row.
4 HRS BEFORE THE SHOW--Talked to Ben (he was walking to the the venue
from his hotel) and he told me that they were thinking about playing
Evaporated that night. Very exciting.
ROBBIE FULKS--Parker Lewis CAN Lose.
SETLIST--Typical w/the exception of "Eddie Walker" which was something
new, nevertheless incredible. Didn't play Evaporated :[ But great
impromptu (break-up song, "This is how" song, and Christine's letter).
Ben took down his pants and jumped around. Interesting.
THANK YOU ADAM BRESSON--getting us into the VIP party. Had the
opportunity to mingle with the band :] but got too shy to approach them
although it was just fine sharing a perrier, listening to Ben and Rob's
conversations at the table next to us. Darren was a couple tables away.
FROM BEN'S MOUTH--He does like playing Evaporated. I guess he just
feels it's not the most appropriate songs for concerts. They played it
at soundcheck though.
SOUVENIR OF THE NIGHT--No, not another piano seat (hi Larry!) but my
wonderful Daniel(Thom Yorke) talked to Ben before I did and got him to
sign this ticket to a Scientology Exhibit (man passing them out on Vine)
for "Janet who came early to wait in the rain". Fantastic.
That's...that's about it...
Janet.

Hi.
I'm sorry for the double-post but this is a totally different topic of
importance.
I know this was discussed a while ago but for those (like me) that
weren't able to get a hold of a copy of the LAUNCH interactive CD ROM
#14 with Ben Folds Five in it, you can still get copies at Best Buy. I
found mine today. It's ace. Go get it if you haven't already.
- -live concert footage (one song)
- -interview
also featuring a bit about Radiohead, Belle & Sebastian, Dandy Warhols,
and Mansun (to name some favorites).
I also failed to mention in my Palace show review that not only did we
partay :] with Ben Folds Five but also with GARY SCHANDLING who was in
the balcony and dropped by the VIP party for a short while. He was the
"Gary" that signed Ben's underwear or something.
Fun.
Janet.

Ok, since people really want the Seattle setlist, I'll give it to 'em.
These aren't in order (for the most part), but I'll try to get them as
close as I can....
Dr. Pyser
Fair
Steven's LNIT
Missing the War
Smoke
Brick
Selfless, Cold, & Composed
Jackson Cannery
Song For The Dumped
Philosophy
The Last Polka
Eddie Walker
Emaline
Kate
BOWCCL
Underground
Encore: She Don't Use Jelly
I was really hoping for Boxing or Evaporated. Boxing and Julianne were on
the set list. I asked Ben at the after show party why they didn't do
Boxing, and he said that since it was the first "major" gig of the tour,
he didn't think his voice would have done it justice. If anyone wants to
see some pics of the show (including my trip there and all the events
thereof...) head to my site in a day or two. Also, I'll say it again, if
ANYONE bootlegged this, PLEASE let me know!
Love,
Max
