To all who missed the recent 120 mins.

YOU DIDN'T MISS MUCH.

They showed Brick and Battle and then talked very little between a couple
videos. As someone else pointed out, the worst thing of all was when
Pinnfield asked them the same question he asked last time about the CURE
ids.

oh well,

michigan joe

I don't understand why people can't just LEAVE if they don't like it.

I don't always enjoy the posts but Lord knows it doesn't take me more
than 20 minutes to go through them all and they are sometimes great
sources of info and/or humor for me.

Sorry you didn't like it but if you get on another list and decide you
don't like it....JUST LEAVE. You don't need to let everyone else know you
think they're silly and that you don't understand the hero worship, blah,
blah.

I don't love the "BEN'S CUTE" or "I TOUCHED DARREN'S SHIRT" stuff either
but hey, I can always just scroll down.....

Subject: record collectors?

Hi everyone,

I'm new on this list and i like BFF since 1996, when I saw an excellent
live show of them here in Berlin/Germany. I wonder if there are any true
BFF record collectors amongst you, who would be interested in trading
CD-singles, promos and bootleg-CDs. I would also be glad to get some
information on above items somewhere in the net (not only the usual UK
CD-singles, but also imports from around the world). Currently, I could
offer for trade an Austrian pressing of "One Angry Dwarf" as a 2-track
promo CD, including a "shitless" version! I don't have that many BFF stuff
myself so far, as I only collected Joe Jackson "as mad". But that might
change. You probably had the topic on this list already, if Joe Jackson (in
his better earlier days) influenced BFF's music, as to me it's pretty
obvious in some parts. I would appreciate any info on this.

Thanx, Bjoern

Dc show was quite good, sound was tweeked, and crowd was alright.

I have a question of personal taste for all yall'

Do you like BFF's slower or faster paced songs?

Uncle Walter, Underground, OAD, etc- are all examples of the fast
songs--which Personally I perfer!!!!

Brick, Boxing, MTW[my favorite of the slow songs], etc-aer all examples of
the slow songs.

It would be nice if BFF's next single was one of the faster paced songs do
you guys and gals agree or disagree????

Btw...I have been hearing Stevens Last Night in my Student Union playing
at least 4 times!!! Is this released, Or mabye just on college radio???

The DC show got a B- from me frankly. I saw then in Central Park over the
summer. Even though they got cut off after 5 songs, it had alot more old stuff
than the DC did. I like "Brick" but I like Jackson Cannery and Whatever
Happened to Summer B alot better. The newer stuff tends to be a bit too
mellow for my tastes.

One interesting note. I count myself as one of the early fans. I was on this
mailing list when we named it. I still my see my transcription of Jackson
Cannery for guitar on the OLGA (online guitar archive). In line for the show
I ended up in front of another mailing list member. It was amazing. Almost
like a family here, or as my friend compared it, like a Phish show (I think
we're cooler than Phishheads are, and we take ALOT less drugs. It was great
to see how far the Chapel Hill trio has come. And I will remain loyal to the
very end.

I was also at the DC show, and I know exactly what you're talking about. I really don't care
that there are 13 year olds who want to come see Ben Folds Five because of Brick. It's when
they act immaturely (ie singing loudly, jumping up and down, ruining the concert going expierience
in general...) that it bothers me. I didn't pay my poor college student $20 to hear the girl behind me
belting out "Selfless, Cold, and Composed" as loud as she possibly could.
My thought is that some people never learned the difference between live music and their CDs.
If people want to sing along loudly to their CDs, good for them. I do it all the time. But, when
you are watching a performance, it's rude to the people around you and to the performer as well.
It really ruined the mood to have "I love you Ben!" shouted out during the middle of a ballad.

Behave people! Unless you're attending a pantomime, you are not part of the show....

Cheers,
Kara

Subject: Twin Falls

Hello, all. I was at the Philadelphia show, and looking at the
attendance, I was a little dissapointed, not in the quantity, but in
quality. It's not a bad thing that Ben is getting exposure, it's
wonderful that more people are listening up and taking some notice. But
for some reason I feel like the band is being sacrificed to a world that
accepts the Gin Blossoms as creativity and Puff Daddy's xeroxed music as
art. But I am happy for the band. I'm sure that this is what they've
dreamed of since the beginning. Just a personal note. But I digress.

Just before Ben came on, the mood music was playing sorta quietly above.
Then, out comes a studio version of Twin Falls, not the live verision
from Baby Photos. The newbies surrounding me did not, of course,
recognize the song as BFF. Does anyone out there know where I could
find this studio version of Twin Falls?
