NO ARMCHAIRS FOR A FEW DAYS
The list was down for a few days because of a network upgrade at the
server. The mailing list is now running again but other traffic may be
delayed by a couple hours now and then. You should have received issue
#854 with the wrong date, again a configuration problem. The correct date
for that issue is Sunday, Mar. 1, 1998.

hey, this is my first post to the armchair. I was watching MTV news when =
Ben Folds five came on! I tried to tape it but it didnt tape...oh well =
im gonna try to get it later today when mtv news comes on. It might be a =
good little clip for the armchair video if i get it on tape. It was just =
a short segment with clips about the brick video and Ben explaining it. =
Robert had what looked to be a starbucks cup in his hands.

Well I went to the Shift website, and after a little searching, found the
article. Those pictures that went with the article were really nice. As
for the comments made about the fans..I don't think they were meant in a
disparaging way. :) Oh yeah...the rumors of perhaps a late spring tour..in
case anyone important reads this..if it's true, how about a stop somewhere
in Eastern NY or Western MA around..let's say the 11th of June. Will be my
21st birthday and what better way to spend it :) Hehehehe...Ciao!

PS. A friend of mine told me that "Brick" has finally made it onto the
playlist of this radio station back home, Live 105.5, the "Berkshire's
Music Leader." Perhaps some of you are familiar with this radio station.
This is a sign that perhaps the radio popularity of "Brick" has come to an
end..I mean, this station still plays old Gloria Estafan. But hey..at
least they finally caught onto quality music, better late than never I
always say.

You know I was thinking that BFF should cover "Misstra Know-It-All" by
Stevie Wonder, which sounds like it could fit perfectly in between
Where's Summer B? and Alice Childress on their debut...definitely in the
same groove as their more upbeat ballads. My roommate said they
should cover the theme song to Welcome Back Kotter. I'd also like to
see "Melissa" by the Allman Bros. or some Willie Nelson like "Crazy."

Someone on issue #861 was talking about "Brick" sounding like Cat
Steven's " Where Do the Children Play?" After listening to it I would
definitely have to agree that there are at least some similarities
there. Does anyone else think this? Then again, does anyone else
really care?

I don't know if it'll be too late by the time you guys read this, but my
brother said that Ben Folds is on MTV news today talking about Brick. They are
also doing a song for the soundtrack to the Godzilla movie! I think they air
the news at 10 minutes to the hour, but I'm not sure they show the news during
prime time.
