<< "100%" -- sonic youth >>
now that's an odd choice. i think maybe "Diamond Sea" or "Madonna, Sean, And
Me(Expressway To Yr Skull" would be cooler. i'd also like to hear them do Soul
Coughing's "True Dreams Of Wichita."
<<I almost hope they do get someone different. I think Southern has done a
GREAT job but sometimes a different producer can really bring out some
wonderful, different qualities. Looking through many of my bands, they
often experiment with producers.>>
i have to agree that sometimes producers sometime really help develop a band's
creative process, but i think the allure of WAEA is that they branched out
from the rather basic sound of the first album without hiring a big-name
producer like Babyface. besides, if they experiment with their sound too much
on the next album, they'll be bombarded with "sellout" remarks.
<<"Closer" - Nine Inch Nails>>
i don't think they could outdo Maxwell's version.
<<Highlight of the show will be when Ben throws his piano stool right into
Dionne Warwick's huge nostril without touching the sides.>>
LOL
i taped the thing on the Sci-Fi Channel about BF5 on C/Net. a little bit of
live footage of various songs(brick, fair, kate, improv cybercast song). when
they showed the interview clips i felt like the band was in my room because
behind the couch they were sitting on were the WAEA posters that adorn my
wall. one thing i noticed is when it showed part of "Fair" near the end where
they're sorta jamming, and Robert got up on the drum riser, which i've never
seen him do before. they're adopting new stage moves all the time, it
seems(i.e.Ben dropping his trousers).
<<Wycleff. DAMN HIS OILY HIDE>>
if there's one thing i don't need to deal with, it's hip-hop hating. besides,
i got the feeling SFTD is gonna be big. Sony wouldn't be sending them out on a
six-week tour in may to promote a six-month old single. i'm positive there's
going to be a SFTD video and mucho radio airplay. i can deal with hearing that
10 times a day! what do you think the video should look like? i'd like to see
something silly like the western motif of "Underground."

"well, it's gonna look like a Godzilla picture, it's jerky as hell, but that's
okay"
-cybercast improv song
Ben:we try not to let Robert behind the wheel of the touring vehicle too often
interviewer:and why's that?
Ben:well he's just not a very good driver(sly smile)
