in the message body. Please DO NOT POST UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST
ITSELF! If you are having trouble, send mail to

and I will try to help you. To change your address, first unsub yourself from
your old address, then subscribe using your new account.
SCHOOL'S OUT FOR {SUMMER | EVER}!!
If the above statement applies to you, be sure to unsubscribe from
the Armchair if you will not have access to your e-mail account over the
summer. Otherwise, your mailbox will fill up and the system administrator
at your school will be one angry dwarf...
Accordingly, very soon I will begin purging the mailing list of any
address that bounces for any reason (e.g., too many hops, mailbox full,
no route to host), not just 'user unknown'. If you find yourself
unsubscribed, this is probably the reason.
THANKS A THOUSAND
With the passage of 1,000 issues of the Armchair I'd like to thank
everyone for their contributions to the success of the list. We have a great
group of fans and the band is very appreciative of your support.

for those of y’all that... are planning to listen to the webcast on the
23rd. Come join the arm chair gang in the chat room for the dumped at
their offical site, during the concert. Elevate your listening
experience by singing along live with the rest of us that evening. For
those that were at the last audio-net concert last week-- it was a lot
of fun. If you go... just try not to mention the un-namable song,
because that could lead to a major fist fight that should not carry over
from this mailing list. Common’ it’ll be fun, right?

I hope everyone who bought the Godzirra soundtrack skipped to track 5 and stopped listening to the rest of the album. I made the mistake of listening to the whole thing. My head still aches from the poor quality of the rest of the album. I bought it for the Ben folds song only. I was not expecting much from the rest of the artists. I received even less. It needs to trade Bush for Ben Folds and this would be the Apocalyptic album that would ruin music as we know it.
Ben Folds is the savior.
Air is a great song. I just wish Brendan O'Brien would have left his hands off of it. He ruined Mathew Sweet. I hope he doesn't f**k with Ben Folds. I can't wait to here it without O'Brien. I hope Ben Folds stops doing soundtracks, like they said they would. If they want to put out a non album-cut, put it on a compilation album. At least that way I would not have to own any Puff Daddy or Wallflowers, etc.
Once again puffy could not come up with anything original. At least he got the original artist to play instead of an old record and mixed it. It is kind of nice that Jimmy Page will get some royalties. That way he won't go into a nursing home next year when he turns 70. I have an old copy of Sittin on the Dock of the Bay. It is all scratched up and skips every 3 seconds. I was thinking of releasing it as a Puffy song. But I heard on B.E.T. that he already had it in the works.
Fuel is trying way to hard to get their music in before the 90's are over. They have Copied every bands style except for Ben Folds. I hear they are trying to work in a baby grand on their next album. "Procreate for genocide" That has to be the Cheesiest Line I have heard In my life.
Days of the New meet Alice in Chains: Alice in Chains meet Days of the New
Green Day has a "great" song on the album. If you loved Brain Stew before. You'll love it even more with Godzilla singing backup.
Jamiroqueer- funk revisited. If you hadn't had enough.
Wallflowers- My god please make it stop. I have had enough of One Headlight. I don't care what you title it. It is the same monotone song.
Sorry for Venting
Jake

to elisabeth and fellow screamers;
we all get carried away with our emotions when we're at bff
concerts, that's why we're all on the list, right?
but, please, you do not have to destroy the ear drums of everyone around
you........=no offence, i'm sure you would stop if someone asked you, but
usually people don't and it can get nasty.....also, people crowd surfing,
when the crowd does not want them to - that bugs me....i'd rather survive to
see bff again. if that's ok
sorry this is so long and serious. man. i wish people would stop getting so
uptight about stupid arguments on the armchair. it's mostly a laugh.....:)

Personally, I disagree with an armchair a few days ago, stating that
the soundtrack was basically full of crap. I actually think this is a
great soundtrack. When the Scream 2 soundtrack came out, I beat it
to a dead horse, it was awesome, but I think this one just about ties
it. I really like the Godzilla soundtrack and I am highly impressed.
The Silverchair song rocks. I urge everyone to buy it! :)

Howdy all. How are you doing? Really? Great / good / I'm so sorry for
you.
Anyway, I couldn't help but notice a few folks talking about moving the
tall people to the back of the club. I happen to be tall for my age (6
feet for 15.8 years old; I've been keeping track of my age in decimals,
so LAY OFF!!!), but rather than bitch & moan about how much the tall
community deserves to see the band they came for up close, I thought I'd
tell about an unusual experience I had with this. I went to see the boys
back in February in a standing room (honestly, is there any other kind?)
only hall, Clutch Cargo's. Now, I happened to be moderately close to the
stage (about 3 people back). I could see quite well, in fact. The problem
was that there was a guy 7 FEET TALL standing right in front of me. I
missed seeing most of Robbie Fulk's country antics & when I finally did
move, people were bitching & complaining about how they couldn't see over
me(!), but I ended up being right up IN FRONT OF BEN by the middle of the
show.... Hmm, it wasn't that amusing of a story. I'm sorry I brought it
up & for wasting everyone's valuable time. I'll shut up now.
We plants are happy plants.

I really liked Lauren's "brickheads vs. longtime fans" post a while
back! I've been waiting for somebody lay it out like that! Since I
usually only listen to "oldies" like the beatles and Elvis and that sort
of thing--I didnt "discover" ben folds five till dec. 97... I remember
I couldnt sleep and i was flipping channels when I came up on the
"brick" video. I'm really into pop/rock piano groups and I've wanted to
start my own for a long time--so this band of young guys playing piano
and upright, bowed bass naturally caught my eye... well, needless to
say, theyre now my favorite band...I finally got to see em in dallas
last weekend too! a 5 hour drive--but well worth it. if it werent for
brick or mtv, i would never have found out 'em. The beatles never
stopped playing "I wanna hold your hand" or she loves you just because
they were hits you know! I'm glad ben folds five is getting
recognition--they deserve it... and if that means "selling out" to some
people--thats a damn shame. If people were the big fans that they
claimed they were, they would be happy for the band instead of bitching.
anyway--cool post...sorry I ran on there for a bit, but that topic
really eats at me.

Subject: "Air"...where's it in the movie?
So, I went to see Godzilla this morning (not bad, as long as you're in the
mood for that kind of movie :) ), and never noticed the song "Air" being
played. I guess I should've gotten the soundtrack before seeing the movie,
so I'd know what to listen for, but I didn't, and didn't hear anything I
immediately recognized as BFF.
Anyone care to clue me in? When do they play "Air" (or some part of it, as
is more likely the case) during the movie?
Also related to the movie, I have to say, I'm not a huge Puff Daddy fan
(mostly because of the hype), but I loved the cover with Jimmy Page. An
*excellent* interpretation of the song (they played it at the end of the
movie, during the credits, so it was easy to pick out :) ).
(I'm calling it "the song" because I thought the song was named "Kashmir,"
from the Houses of the Holy album, but someone else said it was called "Come
to Me," so in the interest of not revealing a gap in my Led Zepplin
education, I've refrained from referring to the song by name. Of course, by
saying that, I've revealed all anyway. Oh well... :) )
Finally, I wouldn't mention this since I think it's really off-topic, but
since I'm posting anyway...
This whole age thing is pretty out-of-hand, and old history anyway (it only
comes up what, every six months or so, with the same arguments every time).
But, given that it's going to be raised, I don't get the big deal.
Teenagers (or whatever age you want to consider young) *can* be annoying.
However, so can adults. And teenagers can also be smart, considerate, and
just as good company as any adult. If the behavior of some teenagers is
annoying, you should argue that clubs should kick out people engaging in the
behavior, not that they should restrict certain age groups that may or may
not have a higher incidence of the behavior.
(Since all the teens feel they need to make their age public, I will too.
For the record, I'm 30 this year).
Pete
