The Ben Folds Five Mailing List
TO REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THIS MAILING LIST
Send an e-mail message to:
armchair-request@maillist.il.fontys.nl
with the word
unsubscribe
in the message body. Please DO NOT POST UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST
ITSELF! If you are having trouble, send mail to
owner-armchair@maillist.il.fontys.nl
and I will try to help you. To change your address, first unsub yourself from
your old address, then subscribe using your new account.
SCHOOL'S OUT FOR {SUMMER | EVER}!!
If the above statement applies to you, be sure to unsubscribe from
the Armchair if you will not have access to your e-mail account over the
summer. Otherwise, your mailbox will fill up and the system administrator
at your school will be one angry dwarf...
Accordingly, very soon I will begin purging the mailing list of any
address that bounces for any reason (e.g., too many hops, mailbox full,
no route to host), not just 'user unknown'. If you find yourself
unsubscribed, this is probably the reason.
THANKS A THOUSAND
With the passage of 1,000 issues of the Armchair I'd like to thank
everyone for their contributions to the success of the list. We have a great
group of fans and the band is very appreciative of your support.

Subject: Total Request
I've posted this before, but I guess I have to do it again.
Even if all the armchairites voted for any Ben Folds Five song for Total
Request, there probably isn't a chance it will make it on there.
Normally, Total Rquest Vids win with 10s of thousands of votes. I'm not
sure if there are even ONE thousand people on this nice little list. I
wish it could happen, but it can't, sorry.

Hey again,
Two posts in about 15 minutes, it must be nice outside, considering I'm
inside posting...I'm gonna make a little digest.
1. Sessions at West 54th
2. MP3's
3. Scour.net
4. Godzilla
1) It seems like a lot of people think that the Sessions at West 54th
with the guys is new. It isn't, I saw it last summer, right after the
HORDE festival was over with. I thinl Beck and the guys have really made
a lasting friendship considering they're also touring together this
summer. But nevertheless the Sessions was great, and I'm pissed I missed
it the second time around.
2) MP3's rock. Right now I'm downloading a Dave Matthews Band concert.
Or trying anyway, there are too many songs, and it a concert of the
week, so I only have today, and a 36.6 just doesn't cut it when you're
downloading dozens of 5 meg MP3's. But anyway, I thought it would be
cool if someone could do an MP3 concert of the week thing for BFF. We
need a new MP3 archive too.
3) On the note of things kicking ass, go to scour.net. Now this place
rocks. Thanks to whoever posted about it. I even found a couple Guster
songs. (Guster is a greeeeeeeat band).
4) Godzilla, I don't care if the movie sucked or not. No need to flame,
don't take this as a flame either, but I don't think it's worth making a
post about how good/bad the movie was. But then again, that's just my
opinion. I personally thought Air is a great song myself, who needs to
buy the cd when you can download the MP3?
Wow, this turned out to be way longer than I expected. Sorry I guess.

Subject: Dumped
Just thought I'd share a little tidbit from a local newspaper interview
with BF5 regarding SONG FOR THE DUMPED.
Darren says, "When we sing the chorus at the shows, there's a bunch of
guys in the crowd with baseball hats on backwards singing along and we're
like, 'No, no, we take it back. Let's calm down and go on a shamanic
journey.' Maybe the song should go, "And don't forget that grain of
salt."
OLD mich joe
and I still think Brick's a great little tune.....glad the whole world
agrees.

*pristine* copy of the boys doing this fine Buggles tune. I have a copy
from a WNEW broadcast that is only OK quality-wise. I would like to find a
clean copy - especially if anyone has the version they had submitted for
inclusion on the "One Hit Wonders" compilation.
Thanks in advance,
=) Lance
