SCHOOL'S OUT FOR {SUMMER | EVER}!!
If the above statement applies to you, be sure to unsubscribe from
the Armchair if you will not have access to your e-mail account over the
summer. Otherwise, your mailbox will fill up and the system administrator
at your school will be one angry dwarf...
Accordingly, very soon I will begin purging the mailing list of any
address that bounces for any reason (e.g., too many hops, mailbox full,
no route to host), not just 'user unknown'. If you find yourself
unsubscribed, this is probably the reason.
THANKS A THOUSAND
With the passage of 1,000 issues of the Armchair I'd like to thank
everyone for their contributions to the success of the list. We have a great
group of fans and the band is very appreciative of your support.

unfortunately im going to have to withdraw from the SPAC coterie. :(
i told my sucky workplace that i needed fulltime hours for money and so,
they gave me enough hours, BUT...i told them i can't work mondays and
what do you know, i have to be there monday. and i requested june 6th
off literally months ago, and i'm on then too...gee who EVER would have
thought. if they schedule me for the day of my housewarming party, they
can seriously suck a fart out of my butt, because i won't be there. i
am having the worst weekend possible because i was supposed to move,
but...heh...the movers never showed up on us and i think my dad's
suffering a mental breakdown. BFF was a bright spot of my day because i
moved my stereo over to my new house and was listening to sucky Edge
music, but they played song for the dumped a couple of times, and it was
cool. anyway, i could battle for june 6th off still but i think it
would prove fruitless, also, i never had a chance to buy a ticket, with
all the stuff i had to buy for my new house that i haven't had a chance
to move into yet, ahem. plus im getting a cable modem so i guess thats
cool =)
sigh.
in my cd player: Nothing, its sitting in the east greenbush walmart's
layaway department waiting for me to pay it off =) It's a nice one
though

Subject: Feztival Review
Hi,
It's me, the kind and generous person who sold my extra tickets to
Aaron. I'm glad he had a good time and enjoyed the show.
I think the set had pretty much been covered here, but here's my take on
it. We went with Anna and Chris, fellow Armchairites that we shared many
hours with waiting for the Sonic Session, and I listened to Anna's stories
about the Tongue and Groove session with incredible jealousy all day.
The band was great...the crowd was lame...the really lame security tried
to make me and Anna sit down because we were the only ones in our section
standing up and dancing...he finally gave up. I think Jeffrey Gaines put
the crowd to sleep with his boring songs and long rambling stories about his
dreams about climbing up a beanstalk. ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz
The piano was broken, and it was set up on top of amp. cases, and when
Ben jumped on top of it during SLNIT, we held our breathes because we were
afraid it would fall. After all the abuse, not only was the piano broken,
but the stool fell apart too.
The set was great, but they did not do any improv., probably because the
crowd didn't seem too into it....which really sucked. Everyone did get out
their lighters and started swaying back and forth during Brick, because the
guy running the video camera actually started leading everyone.
And I have to agree with Aaron that Green Day was probably one of the
most entertaining sets I have ever seen (maybe not better, but definitely
different) Seeing the horn section dressed up like bees and playing the
National Anthem in front of the burning drums is pretty hard to top.
Although if Ben needs a way to get rid of a broken piano......

Hi everyone!
When I read about Naked Baby Photos being called Naked Baby PICTURES I
just had to post.
A D.J. here in Atlanta was interviewing Ben, (who he kept referring to
as "Ben Folds Five".. BUT IT WASN'T BEN FOLDS FIVE, JUST BEN FOLDS! GOT
THAT AXEL, BEN FOLDS!! Oh, sorry!) he (the D.J.) asked about the new
album, and called it "Naked Baby Pictures". Ben politely corrected him,
but I was thoroughly disgusted. That's it. Later ppl, take it easy!

In a message dated 98-05-29 21:24:08 EDT, you write:
<< If you own a copy of On The Road (by Jack Kerouac) turn to Part 2, The
last paragraph of Chapter 4 (p. 128 in my copy). Sal Paradise is describing a
performance by a jazz pianist that he saw live and it struck me because it
reminded me of Ben, sort of. Just an interesting little tidbit. >>
Wow! Another Kerouac fan on the list. Yeah, I finished Road about a year
ago, and clearly remember the day I read that part...George Shearing, no?
It's an amazing description and is kinda reminisent of BFF....

After sitting through the 90 weather for 4 hours i was starting to get
restless watching all the assholes get excited over such bands as the
Offsprijng...I figured i might as well set the mood...the performance started
at dusk and ended at night..so that atmosphere was pretty cool
SELFLESS, COLD, & COMPOSED- even though this is one of my favorites i thought
it was a poor choice to start with bc of the moronic crowd that they were
trying to win over..i thought they should have started off with a more upbeat
song...but thats just my philosophy
BOWCCL- I felt this should have been their opening number and this did get a
small number of the crowd into it, i felt this song sounded the best out of
the ones they did,
PHILOSOPHY- the first and only piece they played from the first album, which
upset me, but of course i understood that they had to satisfy all the
posers..at the piano solo st the end Ben started to bang the ksye ith the
bottom of the mic stand..which actually sounded suprisingly good.
BRICK-of course this is when all the brickheads came out, with their lighters,
and started to sing along..nuff' said
STEVEN"S LAST NIGHT IN TOWN- very interesting, ben used some sort of kazoo
thingy with piano keys on it to compensate for the loss of clarinet, and
trumpet..im not a very musical person so i cant really tell u what its
called...by far the longest piece of the night...and Ben spent most of it
standing on top of his piano
SFTD - I feel was a good choice for a closing number...especially when Ben
started scratching the mic against the piano strings..it made for an awesome
sound...he ended off the performanc3 by emphatically throwing the mic stand at
the piano.
They obviously put on a great performance..but it is ashame itg was not
appreciated by the crowd...who all got thought they big shit vby knowing the
words to brick...which was the only song i did not sing along with....Overall
the band qwas kind of out of place..in a crowd which couldnt apprciate good
music if they were sodomized with it.....until next sunday at the DMB, BECK
concert..see ya!
R they or arent they on the HORDE tour?

Myself and a friend have found ourselves with two extra tickets for
the June 2nd bff/beck show at the Pine Knob and we're having a terrible time
finding anyone to buy them. They're pretty good seats (ie. they aren't on
the grass) so if you wanna go just email me or my friend:

Subject: KISS CONCERT
Last night, I rented the Kiss 108 Concert off Pay-Per-View because I knew
Third Eye Blind was going to be on there...It was 3 hours long, and $20, but I
was hoping it would be worth it. Well, 3eb was first up (they played S-CL,
HIGTB, and Motorcycle Driveby, which I have only seen live at their concert,
for anyone who's interested)..
I was sitting in front of the TV, watching the rest..Then, about an hour and a
half into it, guess who popped up on the screen? I'll give you three guesses,
and the first two don't count...Yep, BF5. Anyone go to that concert? I taped
it, I'll look at it again so I can write down what songs they played, but Ben
did this awesome thing with the mic...I mean, maybe he does it all the time, I
don't know, but I only saw them at the FEZtival so I couldn't really
see....Anyway, he was moving the mic back and forth over the piano wires, and
it sounded awesome...Well, I'll post more on that later, I have to go, but did
anyone else watch it? Besides BF5 and 3eb the lineup sucked (it included Lisa
Loeb, Meredith Brooks, Sister Hazel, Shania Twain, and more of the same)
