My fav piano solo, no doubt about it is in One Angry Dwarf. Everyone knows the
part I'm talking about, right? It comes in before "You'll be sorry one day..."
Its just Ben at his best right there. Another great one is in Where's Summer
B? After "I could settle down". I just love it...how Ben laughs and says
''hell yeah".
Also, I still have yet to see the SFTD vid everyone likes. Anyone still
anxiously waiting to see it like me??
One last question: TMBG...I've seen too much of this; WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

Folds Fine As Slimy Suit In Zippers' New Vid
"I have big plans for you all, ha ha!" Ben Folds, leader of the
critically acclaimed Ben Folds Five, makes a cameo appearance in the
upcoming video by the Squirrel Nut Zippers. "Suits Are Picking Up the
Bill," the first single from the soon-to-be-released album Perennial
Favorite, is a zany take on the band's sudden rise to fame and how the
record industry left its impact on their collective psyche. Directed by
guitarist Tom Maxwell and cohort Norwood Cheek, the clip features the
band executing a daring escape after being trapped by a sleazy exec
played by Folds. Sources on the set say Folds gives a chillingly real
performance as the suit-and-tie-donning record mogul; he may have been
drawing on personal experience since becoming this year's indie darling
of the moment. Appearing alongside Folds is "Marcel," the fussy monkey
from the TV show Friends. Look for the video to air in late July.

Warning: In an attempt to spark a new discussion on the MA, my post may or may
not be new Bentent. If I am a frickin moron for not paying attention to old
posts that have discussed this topic, please e-mail/flame me privately!!
Hey guys! All of this TMBG talk got me thinking about an interview I heard
with BF5 when they were here in May. As it turned out, TMBG was also playing
at the same festival (they had a great show!), and the DJ attempted to
incorporate this into his interview with Ben and Sledge. (Jon Flansberg
- --spelled OK?-- directed their SFTD video) The guys quickly mentioned that
they weren't on the best of terms with Flansberg and then dropped the subject.
I think "we're afraid he may beat one of us" was the wording.
Anyhow, I found it to be completely sarcastic and BS (making the DJ look like
a fool for wanting to know more :) ) , but who knows??
Now that I have added my info about TMBG and BF5, my life is complete!!!

Subject: solo/bff in TO/much spotlight
hey everyone!
I just recently discovered this mailing list!! Woo its great. Anyways my
fav bff piano solo of the moment has to be in emaline the after the second
"i wish it was....." I think someone already mentioned this to be their fav
too....it makes me want to jump up from what i'm doing and dance around :)
A few weeks ago i saw bff w/beck in Toronto...it didn't seem that they were
on stage very long (i was disapointed that they didn't play underground!)
later i heard it was because ben was sick? They were still great though!!
Anyone know? (i'm sorry if this has already been answered before)
I think that bff deserve a spotlight too!! Forces unite!! I'm sick of
seeing spice girls/backstreet boys spotlights.

I have been looking for this CD forEVER and so far i've been unsuccessful.

Hello All~
I'd have jump on the Selfless Cold and Composed bandwagon...that's some
decent piano right there...and personally, you cannot deny the AWESOME power
of the jazz riff in "One Angry Dwarf..." I would love to be able to rock the
keys like that. ::bows to shrine of Ben:: And, alright, ::braces herself::
There's this piano riff in ONE of the songs that goes "Rhapsody in
Blue"-esque, and I'll be DAMNED if I can remember which song it comes from.
::ducks flying produce:: Don't kill me!...is it Philosophy? No, wait...Argh!
::smacks self in head:: This is driving me nuts and I'm about to leave the
premesis soon and don't have time to pull out the albums and play the end of
every song....HELP! Oh well, I guess I made my point, without sounding like
TOO much of an ASS-hole.
