I don't know if anyone else caught this, but they showed it today
after they showed the VMA's for (approximately) 326th Time. Anyways,
Rebecca Romijin<sp?> was asking pretty much all the rock stars there
what they're favourite parts of their outfits were. Mos comment on a
piece of jewelry or something of that sort, but our boy Ben unzips
his pants and shows off his boxers. It was truley classical....

Hey hey everyone--
I haven't posted in awhile...and this post really has no meaning. I'd just
like to share how happy I am for finding the Japanese CD single for "Air" on
Friday. I couldn't believe it! (Especially since the store I went to isn't
that great in the first place.) For anyone who cares...it has a live version
of "Missing the War", along with "She Don't Use Jelly." Cool beans.

I was in a used cd store today and I happened to look at a special Modern Rock
Live Cd and noticed it had Philosophy but I had no money to buy it but when I
do I'll pick it up. In case anyone was wondering. And please don't bitch me
out if someone had discussed this before.

In the lyrics of One Angry Dwarf:" My mom said one day I would have", is

Normaly you would have a good point, but you are wrong on several points.

1. The video for Brick was, in my professional opinion, very well done. It had A+
camera work, terrific lighting, the direction was well planned, not to mention the
high quality film stock used in the filming. When compared to Greenday's winning
video, Brick was MUCH stronger. Better than the song it's self actually.

2. Theoreticly, the awards SHOULD be given based on video, not song. But that ain't
how it is. The folks at MTV give them more for the song than the video. After all, I
may like some of BUSH's videos, but I would NOT sit through the crappy song that
goes with it just to watch it. Besides, when Aerosmith, Greenday, Puffy, et all win
said awards it is because of the song that THEY performed. If it WERE based on the
video then the awards would go to the directors, producers, etc etc. NOT the band.

But then again,
Steve

<<Somebody mentioned that there was snickering after Green Day said that
they
thought it was going to Ben Folds Five. At first, I too thought they
were
insulting our boys, but, after I thought about it, it may have been
snickering
because they weren't thinking that they also only had three members. In
other
words, they were laughing at how silly they were to not think that they
had 3
members.>>

I think you guys are looking into this way too much. I saw the post
show again last night, and I don't think Kurt Loder's snickering had
anything to do actually do with bff. He was just laughing at the fact
that Green Day had never imagined they'd win. And if you guys notice,
really carefully, during House Of Style, you can hear "Song For The
Dumped" in the background. A little after they show Ben, they play
it, but you have to listen very carefully. Okay, that's all.

Found a compilation cd entitled "Sonic Persuasion" at Dynamite Records in
Northhampton and it has SFTD on it. That's about all the Bentent there is
for now...well, except for the fact that I'm patiently awaiting the
release of Fear of Pop and still searching for the SFTD single around
these parts.

Michael Stipe at UMass Boston? Why can't UMass Amherst be so lucky and so
cool?!

I dunno, I think Radiohead kicked all their fat-asses. Radiohead never
ceases to amaze me, and I think that video was phenomenal. As for
brick, artistically it's well done, that's proven just because it was
nomintated. I mean I saw it on MTV a couple of times, but it was far
from overplayed. So if I had to put them in order... Karma Police, BFF,
Green Day, then whoever else was nominated. I think one of them was foo
fighters...

Thank you to Hillary and Laura, for knowing bff didn't have the best
VIDEO, (no matter how much we liked it).

Also, I don't believe green day is mean-spirited, just three silly guys
who happen to have a sense of humor about meaningless, pat yourself on
the back award shows.

Oh, and I have a REAL receding hair line, so... ppppbbbbtttthhhh! (heck,
if ya'll like it so much, I'll trade you!)

I'm farely new to this list so I don't if this has been asked before but does
anyone else notice that in Philosophy Ben plays a little riff that sounds just
like a part in that Gershwin song, I forget the title of the song but it is
also the theme song for United Airlines.
