I was flipping through my friend's Mademoiselle magazine earlier today,
and I saw a little review of the boys in the music section. I don't
remember exactly what it said, but they did give them 3 stars or whatever,
and said that TUBORM was a good investment. It was a pretty good review
too, saying something about their originality and such. Also a cute but
small picture of them in suits and ties. Just thought I'd mention this in
case anyone wanted to know...it's probably this month's issue...

Besides THOROUGHLY enjoying the new stuff I have to say that Ben's voice
seems MUCH more prominent in most of the songs. Really out there. It was
never really buried before but it seems to truly be at the forefront this
time around.

p.s. Yeah, army's gonna be a nice little hit for 'em

Hey BF5 Fans,
I am a total Ben Folds Five fanatic but tonight was my very first concert
and all I have to say is that it was one of the most incredible experiences
of my life. Ben and the boys were terrific! Everything just worked
perfectly -- even the lights added an awesome effect. The set list is
basically the same as that of the college shows. I think that Ben changes
one of the old songs he uses for each show. Tonight, he did Alice
Childress.
TUBORM was really nicely woven into the whole set. Narcolepsy, as has been
mentioned on the armchair before, was out-of-this-world. The audience was
really in awe. Other highlights included Fair, Underground and Philosophy.
Fair has never been one of my favorite songs but the energy that they put
into it tonight was amazing and I ended up loving it. Well, another 18
hours until the next show. I'm psyched. See you all at TLA tomorrow, Eric

Showgoers!
We are still looking for some people to post their reviews on the Live Show Review
Archive so that we have a centralized list of show reviews and bootleg availability. I
have a few folks who have emailed to tell me that they are going to visit the site,
post a review, and then paste it into an email to the Armchair to save them some
duplication, but they won't see BFF until May and June or so! The site has a form to
comment on:
- -How many shows you've attended
- -Your Favorite Song from the show
- -Most surprising Song/Cover from the show
- -What you thought of the opening band
- -If you have tape to trade
- -Free form section for whatever you want to say
Your review is immediately added to the website. Check it out at
http://mcdwebdesign.com/bff/
Thanks,
Patrick

I've seen BF5 the last 3 times they came to New York
City & by the time I found out when they were coming
to NYC, they were sold out! If anyone has 3 extra
tickets to sell I will gladly buy them off of you.
Just jet me an e-mail if you have any extras. Thanks!

Hey guys,
I'm a bit of a lurker on the Armchair, but I'm in a bind and I hope somebody
has a few extra tickets. I was away the last 6 weeks doing a Pediatric
rotation in LaCrosse Wisconsin (whoopie), and I totally missed my chance to
get tickets to the May 3 Chicago show. Does anybody have 2 extra tix that
they'd be willing to part with? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE?!? I will be your
indentured servant if you come thru for me. Thanks a bunch,
Michelle

I was at Blockbuster Music the other day to reserve my copy of TUBORM, and I
was lookihng at the back wall and-BAM- There it is- a poster of our guys!
Black and white photo, they were all just sitting there but in really nice
tuxedos and everything. Then at the top it said "BEN FOLDS FIVE" in white
letters with a black background.
I asked the guy at the counter if that was for sale, and he said he wasnt
sure, cause it was his first day there. Guess I'll have to check it out later

well, i know everyone is going to post a review of the show, but i thought
i'd add in my 2 cents, anyway.....
i had an awesome time! once the guys got on stage (did it feel like an
eternity to anyone else? i guess i'm just spoiled on the little unknown
bands that i usually go to see who set up the own instruments and things and
do it within 15 minutes. oh well) anyway, i meant to write down the set
list but i forgot about bringing a pen until i was halfway to the train
station and i wasn't about to walk back. at any rate, they played a whole
lot of the new stuff. ben would explain each song and how it fits into the
"story" of reinhold's life. it was cute. the best part was that i had
downloaded the mp3s earlier that day so my roommate and i already knew the
names of the new ones and our friends were very impressed :) she and i both
almost passed out when they started playing magic, hehe. i think that has to
be my fav of the new stuff. from what i remember they played practically all
of the new album, underground, philosophy, slnt, bwccl, fair, alice
childress, sftd, ummm....that's all i can think of off the top of my head.
on the way there my friends and i all named songs that we hoped they'd play.
my friends all got their pics, i didn't get mine :( (emaline) but that's ok.
we all had agreed on magic and we got that one :)
all in all, a great show. i wish i were going again tonight. my brother is,
lucky kid, but you know....poor college student and all, i just couldn't pull
it off :( oh whoops, this is a little long. hopefully atleast a few people
will read it anyway.
i hope everyone has a lovely day.....
