Subject: Tape Trades
Hello all,
I was hoping to get some tape trades going. I have a
limited BF5 collection, but a rather extensive
collection of other bands. The URL for my tape
trading page is on my signature file below. Please
email to set up a trade.
Thanks,
Josh

hi all
I know this is very unlikely but does anyone have a copy of Truth and
Rumors that they would be willing to sell me. I am fairly desperate, I
borrowed someones TandR cd and my cd player was stolen with the cd in
it. E-mail me individually if you are interested in selling the cd.

Hi, I'm back with multi subjected subjects. I doubt any of you remember me,
but if you do, you get mad props.
Last time I checked (which was a long time ago.) Robert's girlfriend,
Elizabeth, was on this list. Of course she could of gotten fed up with people
wanting to get in his pants, and accusations of him getting on the bus with
some lesbians, and unsubscribed. Anyway, they live together, Robert and her
have been together for 6 years which means that she loved him during the
homey-g period as seen on Before they were Rock stars. Anyway, this was
pretty pointless.
Hi, is Bess from Ol' Mizzou still on here? If so, this is Katie from Kansas.
I was wondering if you were going to the St. Louis/or Kansas City show. I
would love to go out to lunch with you or something. If so, please e-mail me,
because I'm afraid of missouri's e-mail addresses, they're like:
c02392049012490149019@showme.missouri.edu or something scary like that. what
the heck does the c stand for?
More to come, I promise I'll be active on the armchair, I promise I'll be
active on the armchair.

I was just listening to my MP3 of Air and I was just wondering what album
this song can be put on and I would have to say TUBORM can have air on it
easily. I kinda looked back and realized that this was maybe a sign of
things to come. Luckily, i have always loved air (enough to buy the godzilla
soundtrack).

Subject: A band is...
I pulled this from a book about Dave Matthews. It wasn't written about DMB,
but by Philip Toshio Sudo, "Zen Guitar"... just quoted in the DMB book, and
I really feel that it's something that us fivers can claim for true when we
regard our men, BFF...
"A band is not merely a collection of individuals. Its essential character
must be for the whole to exceed the sum of the parts. When the right people
get together, be it in music or sports or business or marriage or sex or
whatever, a kind of spiritual fusion takes place. This fusion cannot be
bought or forced or manufactured... no one knows how this magic happens.
But when it does, we feel the presence of something divine and everyone
who's there knows it. Cherish the chemistry of great bands wherever you
find it. You're onto something big."
Isn't that beautiful? Really, I treasure the chemistry of Ben, Darren and
Robert. Where else would we find such magic?
Much love to you all... Heather Grace!

Hey-
just to warn everyone..this post isn't the most informative piece of
literature(if you'd like to call it that) Well anyway-I was in the Gallery
East Mall in Center City Philly today scrambling to find some contact paper
for my final project and what do I see before me in the food court but a
Chic-Fil-A! I've never seen one there before even though I've gone to that
mall at least 20 times in all of my college boredom. I tell you,it was like a
choir of angels had clung to the fake marbled walls that day and a light did
shine upon the beauty that is Chic-Fil-A. Then,I realized that I was staring
at it (and so did the people passing by) and I said to myself "..it's a fast
food place,Melissa-get over it." So,I walked away.
:-)
just thought I'd share that.

Subject: BFF or Cake??
A question about Cake the headliner on the upcoming show (KC - June 2nd) - so
is bff going to be a sort of "opening band"??? I'd really hate to skip out on
2 days of work and drive all the way to Kansas City, Missouri just to see
them play for a half hour or so.. what's the deal?? if so, i'd like to put my
ticket up for grabs right now.. i like cake, but cmon - my obvious preference
would be to see BFF as the main act - Frank? any info??
thanks-

Some one posted about wondering what happened to the Ben and Glen
Phillips colaboration, I had never heard anything about this and I was
wondering if any one knows anything about it to post about it. I think
they would be amazing together and their style of songwriting is kind of
the same. Behind Ben I think Glen is my favorite song writer. They
would be much better than BFF and Dave Mathews Band. Also I have to say
I am freaking out that BFF is coming to seattle so soon. I thought I
was going to have to wait till sometime in the fall or something. It is
going to be the Best show, I am bringing some friends that like the band
but have never seen them live but they are going to get blown away.

Subject: This whole Genesis bit...
Okay, folks.
I've been lurking for far too long. I'm glad the band is back on the road. I
was at the Park West show in Chicago and will try to be at any other shows
in the upper-midwest... My total thus far is 5. Kind of fitting, eh?
Anyways... this whole Genesis "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" thing has me a
bit lost. Besides BFF, I am also a HUGE 1970s Genesis fan and I don't see
any striking similarities between TUBORM and TLLDOB.
I'll grant you that "Carpet Crawlers" does have a left-hand piano part
similar to "Mess," but that about does it for my observations. Even that is
a stretch in my book because the Geneis version is SO much faster and at
least two octaves higher.
Still, I HIGHLY suggest anyone interested in a GREAT concept album from the
glory days of "art rock" pick up TLLDOB. There are some real gems on those
two discs. If you can find it, get the Genesis Archive Volume 1. It has a
live performance of TLLDOB as well as some other great early stuff.
That said... the Park West show was the best one to date. It pulled us from
mellow into melodramatic with the greatest of ease. The rock numbers were
even more appreciated because of the slower-than-average-tempo of the new
songs. I'm ready for more...
Thanks, and it's good to be back.
