It is now one of those buttons that are for the most frequently selected, so
that means it's close to being on there! Tell all your friends to vote, or
even better send chain letters! I got a chain letter a few months ago to
vote for a New Kids video, and it appeared second on the countdown! If you
don't believe me check this out:
http://www.mtv.com/news/gallery/n/newkids990311.html
Also, it sucks that the boys won't be playing a Cincinnati tour date, but
you gotta respect Ben planning for the birth of his child. At least Cake is
coming June 5th!

<< My bday is on april 8'th as well, but '80. not '72. >>
The only thing that tells me is that you can buy cigarettes.
<>
Well honestly anyone can make Matt look like an idiot, it was probably ment
to be that way you know, The show wasn't done live and there is a such thing
as editing equipment as in "Don't show that, Show this"
<<The New Radicals just had a middling successful single here in UK. Can't
remember what the song was called but it was pretty good.>>
Good, I hope they stay there.
<<Well, either you mean that they have split up, which implies that you must
have
been out of the loop for a while, or you mean that their corporeal "mortal
coils"
have ceased electrochemical activity, which is certainly news to me.>>
I would go with both. But that is just my guess.
<<Being from New England, I had no clue what chic-fil-a was. The
pronunciation
really stood me for a loop, I thought it was a typo. I was thinking geez,
ben doesn't know how to spell, it is chicken filet. I completely did not get
the line. If I ever go south of Cape Cod, I will look for one.>>
Do you ever go to the mall? It is usually there I say, but then again it
could be a southern thing.
<<Crap: Does anyone else find it rather ironic that Sony is doing a
marketing blitz on what I see as a fairly non-commercial album? (BFF are
no Backstreet Boys, THANK GOD!) My current favorites in the Ben Folds
Five stuff category are the post-it notes (a cube of post-its with a
photo of the Fab Five in suits on the side) and the TUBORM guy mobile.
Because it is red, white and black, the mobile would be perfect for
hanging over an infant's crib, however, I shudder at the permanent
psychological damage that might result.
Actually, there should be MORE STUFF! My 8-year-old is a Star Wars
freak, and recently acquired a Jar Jar Binks toothbrush and both the
Ewan McGregor (hmmmm) and Samuel L. Jackson action figures. ("Feel the
force, mother f***er!")
I want a Darren Jessee toothbrush!
I want Ben Folds' face on my knapsack!
Most of all, I want Robert Sledge on my lunchbox!>>
Um ok, You complain that Sony is giving a promo push to bff but say that
those kinds of pushes go to only the backstreet boys. but you want a Darren
Jessee tooth brush? Hmm, maybe because someone thinks that way now, they will
never be happy underground.
<< Go to
www.mtv.com/mtv/tubescan/totalrequest2/ or go to www.BenFoldsFive.com and
there's a link. It would be really cool if they were on TRL, because
there's not much quality music on there (in my opinion anyhow).>>
Yeah we can squeeze a good song in between crap, Alright. :l
<<HAHA---I was cracking up during 120 minutes. I love how the guys bullshit
and
Matt Pinfield is an idiot when it comes to BFF.>>
You know, mtv sucks, I wish Jesse Camp was on the show, The guys could have
made him look really stupid.
Well I am in the bed.
George.

hey armchair people...
i was thinking about this the other day after i listened to all 3 albums
(not incl. NBP) in a row.
i was trying to give each album some sort of classification, though it's not
easy to do. here is what i came up with, but you can all put in your own
thoughts on it.
S/T is the "fun" album
WAEA is the masterpiece
TUBORM is the artist at work.
just an idea.

extinction."

well im a happy camper today as i just got my copy of the Spare Reels tape
and CD from Amazon.com, i already had the CD but wanted the complete
package, so i splurged a little (nothing wrong with that)...the video was
quite humorous...i would suggest picking it up...also the CD comes in a cool
little booklet instead of a jewel case, that made me happy....Brick was the
best that i have ever heard it performed on the video...good job to them, i
was a little dissapointed to only hear two songs off of TUBORM, but im glad
one of them was DCYP, which ben forgot the words during :)...my opinion of
the new CD...i think its not as good as the others when you hear it for the
first itme, but the more you listen to it, the more you realize that it
shows the more mature grown-up side of the boyz...thats just my opinion
though...i would rate this as my fav out of the 4 main CD's out, than sefl
titled, waea, than NBP....Lullabye, Magic, and DCYP are my favorite on the
CD...its nice to hear the softer side of things....well thats about it for
my first post!! Cant wait till they come to Michigan!!

hey all,
about the hidden track, i don't have it on mine (australian release), but
if it does exist on some versions, maybe they got the idea for that from
snout. snout were the support band for their last australian tour and on
their last album, cirlce high and wide, they have a hidden track like that.
anyway... i have a copy of the uncle walter single to trade for any
completist collectors out there as i already have the b-sides on cd. please
send any offers to me, s365927@student.uq.edu.au. and don't give me any of
this "what do you want for it" crap, make me an offer!!! i have been
informed that this single is in fact quite rare... i still also have a
copy of the 2cd bootleg 'domo! ben chan desu' to trade if anyone's
interested. a while ago i stopped trading for bff bootlegs, but now i'm
starting up on that again.
thank you boys and girls

Are any of my fellow Armchairites familiar with Owsley? Surprisingly, I haven't seen any mention of Owsley in the Armchair. Once upon a time, Messers. Owsley and Folds were actually in a band together! For the uninitiated, Owsley is straight outta Pop
Heaven. A definite contender for Record of the Year. If anyone out there has any rare Owsley to share, please let me know. Thanks!
P.S. A friend of mine theorizes that the Owsley song "Sonny Boy" is about Ben.

Hiya Armchairers!
I just love TUBORM, we went to see Suede on Sunday at the Empire, and my
boyfriend wasn't enjoying it at all...
All he kept doing was singing MESS as loudly as he possibly could - all
the die-hard little Suede fans just kept staring at him... We both can't
wait and won't wait until Thursday when we get to go to the gig!
I haven't got my Whatever babydoll T in the post yet , I was hoping I'd
be able to wear it tomorrow, but I guess I can't : (
ANYWAY... If anyone sees a girl with short hair about 22 at the Forum
gig wearing bright red jeans and talking to her older boyfriend who's
35!!!
Then.... IT'S MEEEEEEE! Come over and say hello!
I'm meeting him in the Bull and Gate next door at about 6pm!

tomorrow for one night only, je suis american!

Did anyone ever get around to designing an MA logo or draw an
armchair or anything. If so can you please email me and let me know
or even better, attach the design to the email (in jpg format and not
too big!) .
I figure that we could have a standardised MA logo on a site which
people can download and then add whatever else they want to
the design of the t-shirt.
The logo needs to say something like :

Hopefully we can get something sorted for the second leg of the tour.

Hello my fellow fivers,
So it came to pass that I suffered through my AP Spanish exam
today. Someone remind me WHY I took that class. But alas, I had trouble
concentrating because I couldn't "mess" out of my head. I struggles to
complete the reading comprehension.....but all I could think of was "All the
untested virtue things I saod I'd never do, least of all to you" over and
over. Luckily I brought along my stuffed frog, lovingly named "Uncle Walter".
So I truly believe that by the combined harnessed power of fivers
everywhere, I will get a 4 on this exam. If not....oh well there goes a year
worth of work. And as for some real BFF inquiries....what is "Potty Mouth"
please let me know thanx.

Matt Pinfeild is the all knowing music god, OK? So he tripped on his words a
little, that doens't mean he's an idiot or that he doesn't know anything
about the guys. He knows their personalities well enough that he let Darren
get away with that stupid (but hilarious) story, didn't he? If you had
watched their last appearance on 120 minutes last year, you would all know
that he knows plenty about the guys. =p Stop the dissing of Matt, it's
totally uncalled for.
Ben on Before they were Rock Stars was too funny...to all of you who missed
it, you should quit your job and school or whatever and watch VH1 all day, so
you can see it!
