I, for one, am jealous of George's cutting and pasting abilities. I find it
useful for references and information. Plus, I'm jealous becaue I haven't
mastered the fine art of cutting and pasting when I reply to the MA.
WAY TO GO GEORGE! YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

So if you feel like helping me out write me at web_in_front@hotmail.com with

I had a weird ass dream about BFF concert in Canberra, Australia. Because
this "city" is known as a cemetary with the lights on, I went to this
concert only to find a mediocre crowd who were all too happy to sit in seats
bout 20m from the stage leaving no one in the general area. So there I was,
with my camera, video camera, screaming and dancing, and ben started posing
for all these pictures. They were playing KATE and my friend Kate was with
me so we were going off, then the concert like stopped all of a sudden and
everyone left and Ben, Darren and Robert all sat down in these chairs on the
stage and I was there with them telling how much they rocked and taking
photos with them...uhhhh...it was mighty fine...too bad it was only a
dream...but they will be here on the 26th of August - I'm counting down the
days...cant wait.

First of all, I want to thank those of you who were kind enough to send me
such intelligent hate mail. Calling what I wrote a "flame" I found
interesting, since it was simply sarcasm, which is simply a less intelligent
form of satire. I must admit that I *do* realize how mailing lists work,
and that I should have expected to see many people who I thought posted
pointless and pathetic things. Anyone who was even remotely insulted by
what I wrote should really re-evaluate their lives. If you took me that
seriously, you have tremendous insecurity problems and there are plenty of
therapists out there that could help you get a life.
I hope you realize that calling me a "moron" won't really get you anywhere.
After all, I'm not one of those people who thought "Brick" wasn't about
abortion. Remember this: I hate *everyone*, so don't take it so
personally.
Now, the point which I didn't really elucidate in the previous e-mail, how
to handle multiple posts (i.e. the French in "YRP"). How about this? If
someone asks a question similar to the previous one, anyone who feels like
it can e-mail them personally! What an odd concept, eh? Then, once that
person has sifted through the 6000 e-mails in response to their question,
they _alone_ can post to the 'Chair explaining what they've learned about
it. Then (you might see where this is leading) everyone only has to read
ONE post on the subject! WOW! Can you imagine such a thing?
Now, I know that I'll get flamed for this post just like I did for the
previous one, so I thought I should say this now. If you don't like what I
have to say, why are you still reading this post?
Your much-maligned George Fan,
AH
p.s. thank you mich joe for your brilliant commentary on my last post. Your
ideas are simply amazing and I'm in awe of your brief but enlightening
e-mail. What grade are you in?

Subject: So who just is the real asshole on this listserv?
<<Correct me if I am wrong, BUT THERE IS NO FRENCH
LYRICS IN "REGRETS"!!!!! It's in "Your Redneck Past".
How many people have been saying it's in "Regrets"?!!
Geesh, idiots!>>
What if a french person had Regrets?? Well it is just a thought.
<<This is my first post on MA. But so far this has been really cool,>>
Wait until you get purposelessly flamed, then you will think differently.
<<Just an after thought...does anyone else think that Ben looks like the
cartoon Grinch who stole Christmas?>>
I think that ben looks like sherlock holmes. well he does in one of the press
photos.
<<to: asshole >>
I love it when people like to write to themselves.
<<<rudeboy@mindless.com>>>
Well sums up his 2 predominant qualities doesn't it.
<<your time? your precious time? oh please, just skip the damn message (as
you
say so below!) if it's not worth your time. we're not posting on the armchair
in mind of your time, we're posting to talk about ben folds five.>>
What about the Arphropod that found the time to climb into your prosterior?
What about it's precious time, that is what I want to know about.
<<we're just trying to keep the armchair a friendly place. when all a person
does is flames other posters and stays completely off topic, a problem
arises>>
Yep then you say your the anti george and george should be kicked off the
armchair when in fact you should email george to get mad at him (not in front
of everyone) and you should email Frank Maynard personally if you wanted to
see him go.
<<yeah. asshole. that sounds about right. next time, keep your uneducated
flames
to yourself. they aren't wanted here.>>
Yeah but yours are? >:/
<<sommigen zullen wel zeggen dat ik een dromer ben...>>
Isn't that at the begining of that Offspring song? Not that I care for the
Offspring.
<<As I'm a bit dense, I was wondering if about 4000 more people could send me
the french translation of "your redneck past". I can usually get it after
reading it for about the 18000th time, but it just didn't happen. So, if
anyone could help me out here, thanks.>>
I could, but I don't speak french.
<<Also, I was wondering if all of you people could please waste my time a bit
more by arguing whether or not george is an ass. I love reading everyone's
opinion about a guy who could very easily be ignored by all. It's called
SCROLLING DOWN. If you don't like what the guy has to say, then try not to
read it. I had initially joined this list for the occasional nugget of
useful info, followed by a completely irrelavent line of useless blather
about people like George>>
What is so wrong with people like George. I like George, he is a funny guy,
if you don't want to hear about George then scroll down......oh wait, You
think like me, cool, then we agree then.
<<Idiots...>>
Now, now, not everyone on here is an idiot, just those who like to flame
publicly in an uncreative manner. And besides there are a lot of nice
people who don't like to flame period.
<<with love,
asshole>>
Did you change your name from rudeboy to Asshole, I am just curious?
<<'anti-gavin'>>
What did Gavin do to get hated?
<<there re three types of hidden tracks s far as I know:
1. At the end of the last song after a long pause (the classic one ;-)
2. BEFORE the first song, only accessible by searching backwards (I have
one CD of this kind)
3. the rather dull variant: a track just not named on the cover or in
the booklet
enough of the "wonders of music" lesson for today ;-)))>>
I think I tried to say that, but you probably scrolled down.
<<Snlpiscopo@aol.com (sorry, i dont know your name dude) wrote :
> I'm not Guillame (sp?), the french ben folds five fan (Nice Site, Man).
Sean Kiely wrote :

Guys, lets clear it all up, my name is Guillaume. Yo, thats the french name
for William. Its funny, everyone always make the same mistake when spelling
my name. Whats wrong with "U"s ? :) Anyway, i still like you ;) I just
couldnt let the same mistake happen more than twice ;)
Sorry for the nontent. Take care and may the folds be with you,
GuillaUme, aka the french bastard ;p
______________________________________________>>
If i were to ask anyone about the french translation of "your redneck past" I
believe it would be Guillaume, yes he has a U in his name.. And besides my
count is up to 3 assholes and one bastard on this listserv.
<<Love Peace and Hair Grease,>>
Well if your in it for that on the ma, then I guess your only going to get
the Hair Grease.
<>
I don't know, Ask Frank Maynard.
<>
Bought it used for $2.50
<<pianogtar - (IMO) needs to be kicked off this list. his posts are rarely on
topic (OR informative, for that matter) and are usually (of late)
inflammatory in nature - they tend to be personal responses which i think are
better suited for private e-mail...>>
Why, why kick pianogtar off, he is such a nice guy, If anyone gets disturbed
because of his posting then it probably means that they have mental problems.
<<and posts ABOUT him have grown to
ridiculous proportions >>
They are suited for private email.
<<(not to mention all the damn french lessons we've
been getting)>>
Is that for the song Regrets or Your Redneck Past?
<< I must say that in the past year I have been on this list the only really
interesting or entertaining things to happen are when people squabble. I
remember when the people from The Rockford Files came back for a month and
stirred everything up, and now we have George doing his little MST3K thing
only with The Armchair, and I say let him. I haven't been reading The Magical
Armchair much lately but I must say that as long as George is on here
speaking his mind I will actually read it every day, and if anyone says that
it detracts from the content of the digest I was just wondering how many
times can you see people ask about the Gershwin thing at the beginning of
Philosophy or if Brick is about abortion before you realize that the content
of the armchair usually is repetitive...>>
Please read, and have fun with it, you see, it's all good, this guy
understands completely. and you know the next 2 repetative topics you can
add to that list are Ben and Frally, And French lessions.
>>>You know the men who do use porn are those that end up dating >miss
Michigan.
you say that like it's a good thing.
stewart.<<
You know, it all depends on how your love life is going
<<ok ok ok....i think this nut who says theres a hidden track is probably
confused with the BONUS (not hidden at all) track on TUBORM which would be
"(theme from) Dr. Pyser" which is track 12 on the Australian version. BTW,
it's nice to have a strings version of this finally that isn't an MP3.>>
You can also get it on Teleconned in america, I hope you knew that.

Hi. For those of you keeping tabs on how exposed, some would argue overly
so, BF5 has been lately ( I know after the "Brick" fiasco some is us are a
little sensitive to BFF overkill in the media), I thought you all should be
aware that "Who are Ben Folds Five" appeared as an answer on Rock and Roll
Jeopardy. Surely this is a sign that the boys have hit the big time...
again. Get ready to hear "Army" 24-7!! Not that that would be such a bad
thing...I'm hooked on the honky-tonk section and have almost got it down on
the piano. However, Dexy's Midnight Runners was also an answer (or a
question I guess) on the show too, so who knows what this all means. Sorry
for this imcomplete meditation on the boys' growing fame, but I just
finished my finals and my brain can only handle VH1 at this point. >> Any
guesses on where the Worcester show will be played, if it does in fact
materialize? I'm thinking the Palladium. "The wind don't blow, and the
grass don't grow.." --Sliver Street. Sounds a lot like Worcester doesn't it.
Apologies in advance to those who live there--it's just my obligation as a
New Englander to stick in a Worcester comment every now and again. :) >> and
why has everyone been so negative towards "Regrets"? I love the synth
groove, and Robert's working his magic as usual. Later.
